Our grown kids threw a party when my husband and I finally purchased cell phones. After wearing myself out running [...] “I cut my hair,” my 4 year old granddaughter announced, bouncing out of the bathroom. “I did it all by myself!” That was obvious! But, she seemed very happy with her new hairstyle. Reality hit when she went back to take another look in the mirror. She starred at herself and yelled, “I LOOK HORRIBLE!!!” [...] The unusually hot humid evening begged for ice cream. Standing outside the restaurant’s walk-up window, we were handed 4 ice cream cones. That’s when the race began. “Hurry, girls,” my husband said to our two daughters, “it’s so warm out tonight you’ll have to eat fast so your ice cream doesn’t melt.” But it was [...] It’s hard to find a memory of my childhood without my grandmother. She was a part of every important moment in the first nearly twenty-five years of my life.
